We are delighted to announce that, following a successful application to the Department for Education, our Specialist College is now officially recognised as a Special Post-16 Institution.

This is a significant achievement for the College and reflects the dedication, expertise and commitment of our staff team in providing high-quality specialist education and support for our young adults.

We can now be found on the Department for Education's Get Information about Schools service, making it easier for families, professionals, local authorities and partner organisations to access key information about our provision.

This important milestone marks a significant step forward for the College and further strengthens our position within the specialist education sector.

"This is a fantastic achievement for our College and an important milestone in our continued development. Becoming an officially recognised Special Post-16 Institution strengthens our ability to support young people with specialist educational needs and provides greater visibility for the exceptional work taking place."

Leanne Clarke, Vice Principal for Further Education

The College wishes to give special thanks to Calderdale Council, for the support in helping us pull together the evidence and information for our application.

"We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition from the Department for Education. It reflects the dedication of our staff, the achievements of our students, and our commitment to delivering outstanding specialist education. Being listed as a Special Post-16 Institution will help us to continue building strong relationships with local authorities and stakeholders, ensuring that more young adults can access the support and opportunities they need to thrive."

Simon Cotton, Head of College

We will now begin using our official URN and DfE number across relevant documentation, communications and statutory processes.

We are proud to reach this important milestone and look forward to continuing our work in supporting learners, families and carers across our community. This achievement builds on the College's success last week of winning a national award for its curriculum innovation.
